Cobalt Light Systems (link opens in a new window) is pleased to announce that it has successfully closed a £2.0 million round from existing investors. The investment was led by Oxford Technology Enterprise Capital Fund LP with co-investments from The Rainbow Seed Fund (managed by MidVen Limited) and the STFC, as well as from angel investors and management.

The funds will be primarily used to expand production of the company's products including the "Insight100" bottled liquid screening device for airport security, the "TRS100" tablet and capsule analysis tool for pharmaceutical QA/QC and the "RapID" raw materials verification tool for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Cobalt Light Systems are a spinout company from the STFC's Central Laser Facility.
