The 2016 edition of this great CLF tradition was held from the 19th-21st December at Abingdon School (in Abingdon of course).  The meeting was first held at Abingdon School the previous year, and this had proved so popular (according to the community) and so effective (according to our administrative staff) that we were eager to hold it at Abingdon School again.  We were not disappointed by the standard of Abingdon Schools delivery.

As usual the meeting was crammed with talks from the PhD students and post-docs from the CLF user community, with around 180 attending the meeting.  As in previous years, there were three tutorial talks.  This year saw, Robert Kingham, Nigel Woolsey, and David Neely in the role of the ‘tutors’.

The evolution of the meeting format also continued this year, with the poster session being held at Abingdon School for the first time.  To be more specific, it was held in the School’s impressive Yang Science Centre.  The meeting has grown so much in recent years that the larger space provided by the Yang Centre was much appreciated by everyone.

Overall we found the 2016 meeting to have met the high standard set by its predecessors, and we hope the 2017 meeting will continue this trend.
