Laser protective eyewear is not a substitute for other precautions. It must, however, be used if, after applying control measures, adequate protection for the eyes has not been achieved.

Laser safety eyewear is marked to show the wavelength(s) for which it provides protection and the level of protection it offers. The level of protection required for each laser type will be listed on the safety sheets displayed on the door to the laser area.
