When you hear the fire alarm:
Sound
1. Leave the building immediately by the nearest exit. If possible, close doors and windows and leave equipment in a safe state.
2. Do not use the lift.
3. When outside, go to the assembly point that is identified in your local safety information.
A building warden will meet you outside at the assembly point. Provide the building warden with the names of any colleagues who are missing.
If you discover a fire:
1. Break the nearest break-glass alarm.
2. Raise the alarm locally.
3. Call 2222 from a campus phone, or +44 1235 778888 from a mobile phone, and report to RAL Security the nature and exact
location of the fire.
4. Use an appropriate fire extinguisher if it is safe to do so. Report the use of any extinguisher so that it can be replaced.
