Places to stay during your CLF experiment

Accommodation is normally provided at Ridgeway House on site or The Cosener's House in Abingdon. Arrangements can be made with local B&Bs, provided there is no increase in costs. The CLF User Office has a list of various types of accommodation in the area.

All accommodation should be booked through the Facilities User Office using the online travel and accommodation booking system (link opens in a new window).
As accommodation is often fully booked in the area, it is important that the request is submitted as soon as possible.

The following information is needed:

  • Arrival and departure dates
  • Experimental area to be worked in
  • Experiment/Principal Investigator or Group Leader
  • The Facilities User Office must be immediately notified of any changes, to minimise cancellation charges which depending on circumstances may be passed on to the User.

Most bookings are made for Monday to Thursday nights. If you need to stay over a weekend, this must first be agreed with the CLF Target Area Co-ordinator or Laboratory Manager.

If staying at The Cosener's House, property may be left in a storage area over weekends. Please discuss this with the Cosener's staff.

If working late or staying away overnight, please let the Cosener's staff know, so that the nightly guest check-list (required for fire regulations) can be updated.
