It is with immense sadness that we tell you that Anne-Marie passed away on Sunday, 8th May after a long and brave battle with cancer.  She seemed to be making good progress with her treatment until very recently but her condition deteriorated rapidly after Easter.

Anne-Marie’s involvement with the Central Laser Facility began in the late 1990’s  as a user of the Vulcan laser, taking results that contributed to her PhD, awarded by The Queens University, Belfast, in 2003.  After working as a project manager in the I.T. industry, she returned to a CLF staff position in 2007.  She will be known to many as Project Manager for HiPER and more recently for her roles on the HiLASE and D100-X projects.

Anne-Marie brought unbounded enthusiasm, great professionalism and a host of skills to the CLF.  Most of all she brought the gift of friendship and joy to all those who worked with her with her natural empathy and humour.

She leaves husband Rob, also a "CLF family member" who she first met during her PhD student days, and children Aidan (5) and Ciara (2).

Anne-Marie’s funeral took place at the chapel in her home town of Castlewellan in County Down, Northern Ireland on Sunday 15th May.

Your thoughts will be with her family at this time and we’re sure that those of you who knew Anne-Marie will take many happy memories of her into the future.
