The call for access to Artemis in summer 2022 closes Mon 20th Dec

Call for access:

Applications are now invited for access to the Artemis laser facility at the Central Laser Facility (CLF), Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, during the period April - September 2022. A total of fourteen weeks’ access is available on the facility. We are offering standard access to the 1-kHz laser system.  We will also offer early access to the new 100-kHz laser source. Proposals for early-access experiments on the 100-kHz system should take into account that commissioning is still in progress and not all experimental parameters have been measured yet. Please see below for more details.
The fourteen weeks’ access available includes up to six weeks' access funded by Laserlab-Europe. The remaining weeks will be funded by STFC. Laserlab-Europe funding requires that the principal investigator and the majority of other investigators are located outside the UK. STFC funding requires that proposals have at least one co-investigator who is a permanent member of staff at a UK academic institution.

Applications will be reviewed and prioritised by the Artemis Facility Access Panel. The deadline for applications is 17:00 GMT on Monday 20th December 2021.
