STFCs laser-themed exhibition roadshow begins its tour of the UK tonight with a week-long installation at Ulster Museum in Belfast, Northern Ireland as part of the Northern Ireland Science Festival.

The roadshow informs the public of the many ordinary and not-so-ordinary uses of lasers 
STFC's laser-themed exhibition roadshow begins its tour of the UK tonight with a week-long installation at Ulster Museum in Belfast, Northern Ireland as part of the Northern Ireland Science Festival.

The Incredible Power of Light roadshow is a celebration of the laser and of the science, applications and technology that it has enabled. The roadshow features demonstrations, information and hands-on exhibits that will enthuse its many visitors throughout the year on the impact that this special invention has had.

CLF inventions such as the SORS technology is featured alongside an interactive demo

 

 

CLF science and technology is heavily featured in the roadshow content, alongside contributions from BBSRC and EPSRC, who have supported the roadshow development. Volunteers from the CLF and its user community will be on hand at each roadshow event to engage the public and answer questions, further adding to the interactive experience. 

The roadshow content and banners has been designed to fit most event spaces


 

 

 

 

The roadshow will be making its way around the UK throughout this, the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies 2015. Bookings have already been confirmed in the following locations: 

  • Centre stage of the roadshow is a true to life size replica of the inside of the Vulcan laser bay, alongside a laser amplifier alignment demo
