If you discover a fire:
- Break the nearest break-glass alarm.
- Raise the alarm locally
- Call 2222 (or 01235 778888), report to Security the nature and exact location of the fire.
- Use an appropriate fire extinguisher if it is safe to do so. Report the use of any extinguisher so that it can be replaced.
Please note that a CO2 system is installed in the Vulcan Pulsed Power Room and specific operating procedures are in place.
When you hear the fire alarm:
- Leave building immediately by the nearest exit, if possible close doors and windows and leave equipment in a safe state
- Do not use the lift
- When outside, proceed to your designated assembly area. This assembly point is identified in your local safety card
Check for the presence of colleagues and provide the names of unaccounted persons to the Senior Fire Officer.
